Begin with the verified reference image
Compare the object with a high-quality official or supplied image. On this issue, confirm the overall composition, denomination, year, Dallas–Fort Worth title, gold-content line, skyline, cattle, drovers, and sponsor mark. Do not treat a single low-resolution marketplace photograph as an authentication standard.

Handle it by the edges
Clean, dry hands are fine for careful handling. If you prefer gloves, use clean lint-free cotton and keep a secure grip so the note is not dropped or creased. Hold the edges and avoid rubbing the printed surfaces.
Keep food, drinks, adhesives, PVC-softened plastics, and abrasive cleaning materials away. Do not polish the surface or test it with household chemicals.

Choose an inert sleeve
For longer storage, use an archival-quality, PVC-free sleeve sized so the note lies flat without pressure. Store it in a stable, dry place away from direct sun and strong heat. A rigid outer holder can protect against bends as long as it does not clamp the note.
If provenance matters to you, record where and when you acquired the note separately. Do not write on the sleeve in a way that can transfer ink or adhesive to the object.

Security features are issue-specific
Goldback has described features such as microprinting, serial elements, raised reverse imagery, and UV-reactive ink on 2025 Goldbacks. The exact appearance should be checked against current first-party guidance; this article does not claim that any one home test proves authenticity.
